Fun Cocktails for the Pool

Summer is in full swing, and hopefully you have found ample time to lounge by the pool. You may have even thrown a party or two! Pool parties are our favorite kind of parties here at Allen Pool Atlanta, and this month we want to help you add an extra drop of goodness to your parties (or your alone time by the pool). Read on for our favorite poolside drink recipes! We have our favorite cocktails listed first, followed by mocktails for the non-imbibing and underage among us.

Adult Capri Sun: This fruity drink is a grown-up take on the convenient pouches we used to sip as kids. You can easily take these into the pool with you, and could you ask for anything more? You will need water, sugar, vodka, lemon juice, strawberries and kiwis. Get the full recipe from Brit + Co.

Frozen Dark and Stormy: I love a good Dark and Stormy in the summertime. Just like an afternoon thunderstorm, it makes me feel refreshed and ready for the next adventure. This frozen recipe makes this cool drink even cooler. You will need dark rum, ginger beer, lime juice, ginger and ice. Get the full recipe from Delish.

Cucumber Margarita: I could not make a summer drink list and not include a margarita. Margaritas instantly transport me to the beach, even if in reality I am poolside in Atlanta. This cucumber margarita is extra-refreshing and perfect for a hot day. You will need salt, ice, cucumber-infused tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and cucumber slices. Get the full recipe from Food & Wine.

Fruity Wine Slushies: This drink has wine as its base but will remind you of the days of sipping slushies from the gas station. You will need frozen peaches, Pinot Grigio, frozen strawberries and some fresh strawberries to gasrnish. If strawberries and peaches are not your fruits of choice, I encourage you to get creative and sub in whatever strikes your fancy. Full recipe from Delish.

Roasted Peach Lemonade: Lemonade is probably the most classic summer drink, especially here in the south. This recipe gives it a little twist by incorporating roasted peaches, making it the perfect Georgia beverage. You will need peaches, sugar and fresh lemonade. Full recipe from The Naptime Chef.

Watermelon Cooler: This drink is sure to be a hit with the kids in your life. It turns the best summertime fruit—watermelon!!!—into a delicious, refreshing drink that is perfect for taking a break from splashing around. You will need seedless watermelon, cucumbers, mint leaves, sugar, fresh lime juice and salt. Full recipe from Mama’s Gotta Bake.

Iced Green Tea With Ginger and Mint: Iced tea is yet another quintessential summertime drink, and there are lots of ways to spice this staple up and make it your own. This particular recipe adds ginger and mint for that crisp, refreshing feeling you need in the late afternoon summer heat. You will need ginger, mint leaves, green tea bags, honey and lemon juice. Full recipe from Real Simple.

We hope you have the most refreshing summer! Feel free to comment with your favorite summertime drinks.
